AWLA was founded in 2015 by Aaron Williams PLA, ASLA, as a discerning side project to his daily commitment at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Raised in the silt loam flats of northern Wisconsin, Aaron began his professional career with Sasaki Associates located in Watertown, Massachusetts and later moved back to Madison, Wisconsin to begin a twelve year career in the office of Schreiber Anderson Associates, later SAA Design Group. Here, Aaron's work focused on a variety of project and client types throughout the upper Midwest and became known for bridging the spatial design tangent between architect and engineer.
AWLA believes strongly in developing lasting relationships through healthy collaborations with architects, engineers, -ologists, artists and clients.
The philosophy of AWLA is centered around three connected concepts:
/// A thorough understanding of 'site' to achieve a desired creation of place.
/// Understanding the role of human occupation in a site and how that informs meaningful design.
/// The execution of construction into a made landscape.
